SUPER PILIPINAS for Glory

The Super Pilipinas, a page in social media, by its name alone would like to impart to its readers, followers that the goal and mission of this page is to put affront the dream of a glorious Philippines by the means of adequate attention to  economy under the foundation of industrialization.

The problem of poverty in the country can  be solved by our attention to the conditions of our trade  and economics, as  supported by our curiosity and interest in technology that would serve as the backbone of a sustained growth for an industrialized economy.

The culture of our people must be reformed and oriented to the environment of curiosity, by bringing  public awareness and significance of new things, developments  and inventions  around us, to give us the habit of being particular of creating new, innovative, and leading products as source and means of living.

Our culture has been locked in the old, traditional and backward mentality of  "complacency and indolence", as this was quoted by Dr. Jose Rizal.

Its time to renew and get modern for us to catch up with others who've left us behind miles away in terms of growth, wealth and power.

Super Pilipinas is this way.

Being Super is the need of the country by way of making every minute detail converted into productivity and usefulness. Make people turn their eye into developing new products that will give them wealth through it. Being entrepreneurs.

We have so much to do, and so many to talk about, and the Super Pilipinas is an advocacy  to pry the eyes of people into a thinking mind.

more soon.

Outstanding debt hits record P6.43T

The current outstanding debt as reported to as much as 6.4 Trillion is something that  should be given attention by the government. It should find ways to control the rising debt mostly affected by the falling peso against foreign currencies, that, with the continuance of this trend will result in an impact on our ability to manage, as well as our credibility to service foreign debts.

The problem with our Peso has been seen in many months since the start of the new administration, while  we do not attribute the situation to them, the inattention or lack of adequate focus to trade, commerce, exports, the current uncertainties caused by the focus on the war on drugs contributed well to the depreciation of our local currency.

The pending Tax reform bill in congress can be a reluctant sign on the part of the private sectors which carry the load and burden of the increasing tax rates, that it will saturate its capacities to operate under such conditions of high tax rates.

The friendly atmosphere needed by the business sectors that would make the economy grow through more investments, local and foreign, is  being threatened by the uncertainties currently emerging. See the Political Uncertainties Main Risk to Growth- by the Business Inquirer .

Ofcourse Political uncertainties remains the factor to growth, due to the present pronouncements and the inability to attend to the chores of our economic situation, our losing stance agianst our neighboring countries that we lose more FDIs to them, is something that would make us state that the country is suffering in a illness of the economy.

Much more other factors are the business confidence that foreign potential investors are assessing the country, that resulted to more damages by the indications that more FDIs are turning to other countries instead of the Philippines in trusting their investments.

Like for Example, Vietnam garners about 40% of FDIs against the 3% for the Philippines.

The government should focus instead to war on poverty, and set start to industialize the economy.

Sharing Oil exploration wth China

The reported information regarding the proposal of  sharing investment, or joint oil exploration with China in the south China sea is matter that must be subject to a study by our experts, but rather, simple opinion  can based on what advantage can we get with partnership with China, where in history and proven with experience, all allied and democratic countries which our country is aligned for, is a far better option and choice.

The idea of accommodating China in our sovereign resources is a misplaced sign to start with, for in consideration of our sovereign rights over these waters should not make China take foothold of it at anytime  as a stater, due to unsettled differences in the EEZ which will supersede our position and conflict just in case, and to be partner with in this manner, can turn to be an indication of our manifestation that possiblly, make repercussions and  reversal, being soft and weak in our position.

To strengthen our claim, first we  must not participate and be alluded to, to the proposals of China at this stage. To proceed with our own investments, or in partnership with our traditional investors, it will be more safer and secured being with the unknown  behavior and character of china which is not yet tested. How can we trust them when first of all we have already lost in their further sea reclamations of our EEZ?

The government must think cleverly at this sensitive issues, not to use the idea of war that will prevent our actions on self-exploration, that because of it, makes  forego our rights and cannot act independently.

The government should disregard the idea of war, it will not happen easily as imagined, rather China, cannot make any aggression over our country which has large support of democratic countries, coupled by the presence of UN. Even Russia is not favorable with the aggressive stance of China in the disputed sea.

We should proceed independently in harnessing, and exploring our resources for the benefit our own people, and not for sharing it to foreign nations.

The wrong sentiment here is the proposal, idea that comes from the Philippines offering the project of joint exploration to China. The apparent information of making the Philippines offering them is a ridiculous matter, due to we seem to be powerless and nut-less, and by asking for the direct exploitation of foreigners, using their machines, tools, talents, and expertise will make us look stupid before our precious resources. In opinion, the situation can be viewed as improper, and disadvantageous to our government and its people. Seems it will make us sink deeper to humiliation by our own actions through giving the general works to Chinese because we don't have tools?

Philippines losing Investments to Vietnam

The information that the Philippines is losing large foreign investments to Vietnam is something that the government should get frightened of, in a way that it must force her to gather its think-tank and view the battle situation right away.

In this context, we should bring up an attitude that would make us very aware what other our neighboring countries are doing well and why are we losing.

Economy is about wealth and stature of a country, just like a person, we are aware of our friends and neighbors when they progress or have something new. Actually we have these integral mentality called the "Talangka mentality", so in this respect, why not apply  it for good reason in the government?

Our economic strategist must be very keen, and give recommendations to the President and the congress to augment and make shortcuts for improving our economy.  It must be a body that will make concrete studies and apply them immediately once noticed.

Actually, the problem  of economy is an old story, and anyone can have a good judgement about it, as a matter of fact, we no longer need articulated studies and thesis of the problem, it  is just fundamentally solvable by common sense.

Or if not, why not find out the success stories of other advanced economies of the world and copy paste for our own? It will help us a lot in doing for what we need in this country effortlessly by their example.

In a report, FDI to the region saw an annual decline of 8% to $120 billion last year, according to a report by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Broken down, however, inflows to Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Myanmar (CLVM) surged 38% to $17.4 billion.

The Philippines attracted $5.7 billion in 2015, unchanged from the previous year.

A separate study conducted by Standard Chartered also showed about 40% of foreign investors in China would choose Vietnam if they had to relocate. Cambodia came second with 25%. Only 3% of investors said they would move their business to the Philippines.

The above  is a report from the CNN article. Link to this article is here

If in the data, Vietnam can gather to as much as 40% of the FDIs expected, and the Philippines will only account 3% of it, there is something wrong, that our strategist must scramble and change the game plan.

Note:
this is an editorial, opinion only. Its source of information were from news sources that was just digested to form this view.

Inability to Industrialize

The current condition of the country's economy is unstable or sustainable in the sense that the source of foreign reserves or earnings has become dependent mainly from the OFWs remittances, yet this reliance on sustaining the economy must only play a second role for our economic programs and strategies. We should built a mainstream economy based on industries, or industrialize the country as the backbone of our stability, and not rather from other sources like the OFWs. Actually, the rise of the OFW in our economy can be treated only as an accident, not mainly the thought of the government from the beginning.

We need to accept that industrialization will make the country self- sufficient and  self-reliant, specially when it comes to critical international situations or global economic crisis, we can live long and survive. Industrialization is no different like prepping for the apocalypse.

Unless economic policies are created to make favorable conditions on business and trade, we will find it difficult to achieve wealth and economic gains for the country and liberate it from foreign influences and interventions and world order dictated by highly advance economies of the world.

In this light, we should be preparing now by way of industrializing the economy.

The on-going tax reform measures will make no good generally for the well being of our people, instead, it will create negative impacts that would make further economic difficulties ahead amid the situation of uncertainties under the eenvironment of meager investments and tax base.

The other and only way to deal with our economic situation is to industrialize the country by promoting micro entrepreneurship, more businesses locally,  foreign capitals, and intensify the commerce activity of the people in general that will spread and widen tax base of the government that eventually will lead us to reverse tax reforms instead.

Currently, we have the problem of a falling peso, interpreted as the worst performing currency in Asia right now, while others are improving. The effect of a dollar against the peso will further impact inflation and may not encourage in relaity employment, due to export industries which is supposed to be the recipient of the high dollar exchange has commonly have a high "imported input materials" that would not  be beneficial at all to the sector. Unless, if there is zero foreign input materials in our export products, then, that the case would be the reverse.

Another is the increasing outflow of foreign investors closing down in the country that exceeds the inflow of foreign capitals. These are indicators that the country is heading towards uncertainties coupled by the pending tax reform bill in congress that would make more blows to the woes we experiencing right now.

POVERTY AND DRUGS

We should bring in the mindset for all of us that this country needs  productivity for its pursuit of wealth and abundance, particularly in the landscape of economy that would enable us to be strong in the global competition, for  world trade and commerce.

For many years we have been into senseless and useless political  situations that does not relate to our growth and wealth that would make us  better to serve the needs of our people and make them productive for the benefit of the country. We  have little attention given to trade and commerce, that we had not participated vigorously in international competitions and challenges on trade and technology, and cautious enough to be sensitive with advancements, growth, and wealth of our ASEAN neighbors who have grown steadily over the years, and still, fail to address that  need.

The rise of the EJKs today is counter productive to the economy, it instead endangers the progress of our country, due to the good intent of the policies against drugs are hijack for abuses , that  put at risk potential investments to the country due it. Drug solution in this manner cannot guarantee security and progress, rather, it will dim economic boom and be stunted by it.

The subject for better economy is about confronting the incidence of poverty in the country,  and  its eventual eradication as the solution to the problem of drugs we confront today. Drug war solution at the expense of innocent lives is just seemed misplaced. We should fight poverty as the mainstream problem of the country, without fighting poverty in serious and aggressively manner will lead us to more woes and disasters. We must put in everyone's hands the needed job and livelihood of our people.

Poverty is can be treated as the prime  reason of the rise of criminality in the country, though not exactly be, its incidence is proportionate to the rise or increase of the poor sector of  the population, which for economic reasons,  are prone to commit unlawful acts caused by their demand of existence to fight hunger and basic needs. Others, aspire to have riches  by means of kidnappings, robberies that resulted to murders and deaths of their victims. Even pickpockets and cellphone stealing can can kill their victims, that makes the reason why should poverty be addressed along with fighting criminality.

Drug trade victimizes the poor by making them couriers in exchange for higher fees, specially the youngsters, students, that do not know by their tender age to fight and keep away from drug trade, that later on, they get involved because they become used to money that was offered to them. The poor becomes part of the drug menace then.

There are other sources of crimes which do not attribute to poverty, but corruption and greed of the effluents  are other means of adding greater miseries to the state in tending its economic problems, that instead the government can make a turn around against poverty, the more funds corrupted and stolen, add more tot he problem.

Largely, the impact of poverty which is about hunger, housing, jobs,  health, education, etc., which the government was not able to serve, are primarily the causes of criminality, hence, poverty is the main reason that the Philippines should address about at this stage,

Drug war is a misplaced program of the current administration, rather , war on poverty is the precise program that must be given attention and priority by any administration this very moment.

THE 6.4 BILLION PESO SHABU HEARING ON THURSDAY SEPT. 7, 2017

The on-going  Senate investigation on the 6.4 Billion Pesos worth of Shabu that was recovered by the Bureau of Customs is the heights of all war on drugs initiative of President Duterte, but the names of the first family as allegedly mentioned and  involved in this fiasco is something that the public might reconsider about the EJKs, and vigilante killings that has already seized lives of many users, innocent and victims of this war on drugs.

Since the objective of resolving the drug menace in the country by the President may not  succeed amid the involvement of these personalities if these allegations will turn true or fact in the end. In the Senate Blue ribbon invited the Paolo Duterte, GMA NEWS, had made these turn of events, when during the senate hearing, Trillanes and Gordon exhanged barbs on whether the presidential son will be invited or not, made by the testimony of Mr.Taguba, the broker fixer in the BOC.

There are varied reports from various  news sources that link the Presidential son to illegal importations as alleged has been raised, and ofcourse their attendance in the senate hall will give them the chance to clear all their names.

The expose of senator Trilanes should be answered by Paolo Duterte, as these allegations were presented  in the RAPPLER REPORT : Paolo Duterte a 'smuggler'? Trillanes releases documents anew that would ruin the personality and credibility of the younger Duterte.

The next expected hearing on thursday, Sept 7, 2017  willl have a very different dynamics as the President , in another report by the RAPPLER : Duterte to son Paolo: Attend Senate smuggling probe but stay 'silent'  will rain invocations of constitutional right not to answer questions.

But the public I suppose watching this upcoming hearing will not be swayed by the tactics and silence to answer questions  against them, and the more that public opinion may make them guilty if they do so.

Hoping that anyone in the first family should not be involved in any way about illegal importations, specially in this drug shipment, for the clear intent and  works of his father, the president  will be discredited  or  be affected, and if found to be part of the mess, he may resign in his office as  his promise.
