JEEPNEY MODERNIZATION REASON FOR INDUSTRIALIZATION

In taking the stand for the Jeepney modernization program of the government which is a welcomed proposition to improve and modernize the mass transport system of the country, for security, safety, and contributing for the healthy environment, the program is long due for implementation.

While the government is laying the subsidy finances to take off the project in the reported amount of 27 billion pesos, such enormous cash can be translated more into a productive and long term benefits in view of attaining the modernization through other long term means.

What are the other long term alternatives?

First of all, since the country is not technologically advanced, and we are dependent on importation of cars, machineries that deplete our dollar reserves, the government must make measures to contain car manufacturing onshore or in the country to avoid and prevent exodus of our foreign currency possessions. To save our foreign reserves, we must produce our own cars, manufacture them here in the name of all Filipino brand, but the only problem is the technology needed. that we don't have.

China methodology of partnerships.

China has attained economic power thru manufacturing because they've acquired technology transfers through partnerships from foreign firms. The same then that the government shall encourage partnerships of foreign car manufacturing firms in order for us to acquire transfer of technology, and hence, that way, we can migrate to making our full Filipino brand car.

Spur of Economic activity in the country.

Car manufacturing entails massive industry that would industrialize the country. Cars are composed of about 30,000 parts that would equate conservatively to about half a million small businesses throughout the country. That is a spur of commercial activity then that would solved unemployment problem and would translate to the modernization and building of high skilled labor sectors then.

Self-Reliant.

We will attain self-reliance by building our own cars, ships, military vehicles, weaponry, aircraft, by the status of an industrialized economy  that can be started from the Jeepney modernization program. We will no longer be dependent from foreign makers, suppliers, of our machineries needs once manufacturing and factories are established, and matured by the result and effect of this proposed transport program.

DRUG WAR RETURN TO THE PNP

The question of returning to the PNP hand the drug war program of the government is not a problem, it is legal.

The only question raised by groups, human rights advocates, the United Nations Human Rights are still the same, to investigate the previous killings they believed to be questionable and extrajudicially. While the return is again perceived to be the same, there are opinions and apprehensions that it might resurrect the previous record of the PNP in its conduct.

We cannot judge the body of police officers about their conduct of the war on drugs, they might this time do it accordingly with the law under the light of previous experiences.

What are the effects of a violated human rights to the country on drug war operations that were or to be again  conducted in the same manner is the question here.

Previously the EU blocs, UN, and international leaders have issued resentments over the record of spate of killings in the country, and their alarm and concerns have translated into backing out of aids, grants, assistance programs , and further withdrawal of trade preferences of the Philippines in EU. These are the monetized effects of human rights violations perceived by the international communities, which the government might consider in performing its jobs about drug wars.

The effect of drug war over our plans of industrialization and uplifting the economy of the country is dependent on its results and outcome. Because we are interrelating our country with the international communities, and our revenues, economy is dependent on it,  human rights conduct in the country becomes a proven factor this time. We'll have to learn our lessons that our prosperity are derived only from being civil and just with the rest of the world, and we cannot live alone and die of hunger due to our pride and sovereignty as the excuse of everything.

We'll have to deal with our positive view of our population, its cost by our own lapses and faults that drugs became a menace in the society today, cannot be the reason that well fall  our economy, trade, and relations with the world.

We can deal with the drug war that the police knows better this time.

WHY INDUSTRIALIZATION?

The Super Pilipinas blog is focusing on the program of industrialization for the country. It is an advocacy that would somehow create a noise that the government might consider the path of industrialization as the means to attain economic superiority in Asia, or perhaps the world. It is an overstatement but  is just imperative to attract attention at this point that the aims are for superiority, but nonetheless, the only thing is we have not yet started anything, thereby the call is justifiable.

We recognize the government to have been taking plans and programs to improve the growth, GDP of the country, in all its efforts to achieve them, but in our observation, though they are productive itself, we are doing it in a wronged path when done not in the context  of industrialization. Our leaders have not identified properly that manufacturing is the key towards attaining our goals. Practically they have lost the senses that factories  will solve poverty in the country or totally industrialization is the key to it, because primarily employment is the reason of factories. Somehow, somewhere, we still lack that vision of accepting that manufacturing, hyper activity on trade and commerce will suffice naturally our deficient economic condition.

Industrialization comes with technological advances needed, where we are found to be deficient, alternative forms to acquire them are just a means and methods away. This is why CHINA STANDARD blog, opinion can be found HERE .

This FB page, and this blog intends that this advocacy may turn that our leaders realize the meanings of these thoughts towards our growth and prosperity as a nation.

Why we need China Standard?

The idea of a "China Standard" as suggested in the previous blog of the Super Pilipinas is a thing that would address the deficiency of adequate manufacturing status in the country, where we find China has already conquered the majority of car manufacturers in the world through partnerships methodology.

The current condition of the manufacturing sector in the country do not possess the position to drive up exports or counter imported products that makes importation to be  less in form caused by the insufficient numbers of our local factories in most industries.

Now, comes the idea of a China Standard.

The biggest reason of the inflow of foreign capitals and industries to China is due to the least labor cost of that region that had attracted businessmen all over the world to take that advantage. With the knowledge then that we cannot give what China can give, the remaining question to fight back is our willingness to do  and sacrifice a little to remain competitive and raise growth for the county and give "ample" to "minimal" resource opportunities for our people under the temporary condition just to gain technology and economy for the long term.

To attack the cheap labor in China can be done   here equally under certain terms and conditions. First, create China Standard Zones in those regions, areas where provinces are in shortages of job opportunities and investments. There are areas in the southern part of Mindanao, that are still undeveloped, had been left of opportunities and investments that remains at low daily wage earnings of our people even today, it will just require a research and study to confirm more of this.

Once and upon these regions or areas are identified, congress will step in to enact legislation that will impose moratorium on  all and current existing rules and regulations, restrictions, national labors laws, and proclaim them as China Standard for 50, to 100 years, dependent on the rate and capacity we can accelerate our industrial capabilities and attain satisfactory growth for this goal. It can be renewable when and upon determination of the government body, terminated upon our satisfaction.

China Standard is the factor to attract car manufacturers, Shipping,  Aviation, electronics, domestic products, etc. under partnership arrangements, and take from them technology transfers needed.

The China Standard under this scheme of obtaining technology transfer is a means for the country to gain them all, that once Filipinos had acquired them, a likable exit is then can be done. The labor rates used and based in China can be rated the same in the regions under the China Standard to change or increase in accordance with the trends China had offered with its investors also.

Othe related posts, blogs, that will support this idea.

THE PDEA DRUG WAR

In the recent declaration of the president of contemplating to return to the PNP the handling of the drug war in the country from the PDEA, probably because of the loss of reportage of deaths in the arrests, had caused this as a reason for him to cite the  PDEA of unpleasant accomplishment.

It would mean that the only proof of  a successful drug war is about deaths and kills could not be the basis at all. In the otherwise, the PDEA had shown a clean job in its implementation of a drug war.

Most of all, the main problem of the country is not about drugs, but the economy, where the President should take his time and focus.

The recent rise of prime commodities in the market has already taken effect, therefore the need for attention in the economic condition of the country must then be the paramount.

The records of the PDEA in the recent handling of the drug war is appreciable, under the atmosphere of saving the suspects, caught everyone alive where only one death was reported.

FOREIGN CAR COMPANIES IN CHINA

20111106-Wiki com Smart_coupe_and_cabrio_2.jpg
Smart Car in China
"Foreign-origin brands, most of which are manufactured in China through joint ventures, accounted for 64 percent of total sales in 2010, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. As of 2009, foreign car companies held 85 percent of the Chinese car market. GM was the No. 1 auto maker in 2009. Volkswagen was No. 2. GM sold a record 1.83 million units in 2009

In the 1980s, foreign automakers were allowed to form joint ventures with state-owned Chinese partners with foreign ownership limited to 50 percent. The goal of the government was to develop a car industry quickly, learning from the foreign companies how to make cars while maintaining control of the car industry. Volkswagen and American Motors were the first. VW came and built the Santana model to serve the envisioned need for taxis. American Motors came and built Jeeps. Originally, they thought that this would be a good model given China's rural infrastructure. The American Motors/Beijing Auto Works #3 was the joint venture that formed the basis of China's Joint Venture Law. Every one made out well in part because competition was strictly controlled."

The article is culled for the site link above, but most importantly, the report confirms that China is under partnerships with foreign car makers for their intent to learn car making from other foreign countries, and in that way they can have that technology transfers needed by them.

To find truth to our quest of becoming a car manufacturer of our own, we should also in the same methodology, must insist that our government should lure foreign companies to invest in partnerships with them and  attain that status of a car manufacturing country.

SETTING A CHINA STANDARD

There are more than a dozen foreign car makers in China that had helped shaped the robust economy of this country and eventually become so economically powerful that it becomes a bully everywhere.

Upon finding that the benefits of foreign car makers doing factory works there thru absorbing unemployment in the country, and contributing to their needs of technology transfers were the reasons that they've become what they are now so very powerful in terms of money. It would even overcome the United States in next few years if unabated.

What is the connection of this blog for the country? What could be the positive contribution of this report that foreign car makers are alive in the mainland China? To make a study, it would be fruitful to look into the methodology China is doing to get the attraction of foreign car makers there.

The most common answer of foreign investors going to China is about the labor cost they enjoy. Though we wanted to get investors in the country, the Foreign Direct Investments, it is difficult to take them here amid the rising cost of labor in the Philippines. But how?

We wanted to compete with China, and the rest of our ASEAN neighbors, but the question remains to be as How?

If the problem is to make at par with the labor standard cost in China, then it would require our law to set rules of doing the impossible under our long settled rules.

This can be done.

First, we'll have to regionalize the labor classifications and write these classifications as "CHINA STANDARD". to make  this kind of standard, or realize it, we will need extra legislation to make the labor rates the same with China in its standard. There are certain and many ways possible to accomplish it, and the regionalization will make it possible.

Amongst the poorest provinces in the Philippnes can be regarded as the China Standard, foremost located in the Mindanao region where the population barely are making enough income a day. With the identification of a China Standard areas, we can now set the labor rates attractive to foreign companies. It will be a zone that will address the labor rates and standard practically comparable and equally of that in China. Our will power of making a zone of China Standard is the only possible way to attack and address to confront the economic might of China.

How will it work?

If congress can address regions in the Philippines as China Standard, on terms and periods that will satisfy the need of the country, it could appear  to be like a law issuing moratorium on the existing policies and regulations of the government concerning labor laws, that would be suspended until level of satisfactory economic might become realized by the country. The labor laws are suspended in a period and will move along with the standards being in the progress committed also in China.

The China Standard can be of 50 to 100 years implementation, renewable, until satisfactory conditions of economy are met, or it would also progress to escalate into a level of labor rights and improvements based along the progress of China in the mainland, seeing to it that we do not swayed away from the competition all the time.

China Standard is the only means that investors may opt to choose the Philippines for investments, mainly car manufacturers from Germany, Korea, Japan, and mainly Europe. This concept of taking the bite for beating China is the only way, and the only means that we can achieve speedily the industrialization we need so much today.

GOOD POPULATION OF THE COUNTRY

After learning German quickly and proving to be a skilled employee, Nematullah Jasor, 22, an Afghan refugee, is on track for a permanent job once he completes his apprenticeship in making machine and auto parts.CreditVancon Laetitia for The New York Times

Population problem in the country is a hoax when actually, the population growth of the Philippines is regarded to be a grace and positive blessing at all.

The 105 million Filipinos on record as a population of the country is nothing as a problem upon checking at a perspective where none is a carbon footprint, but rather a humanity builder in better sense.

People are not a problem, the problem are "persons" in those people that makes the problem

By making such a statement, people are an every opportunity of productivity and worth, as everyone can make another thing or product that would make another live.

Example, a person is dying in the hospital because of a short supply of oxygen, but upon finding one person manufacturing, producing oxygen products for sick people for the hospital, that patient needing the product live more by that product of that another person.

Naturally, the government should look into the matter that every human being has its worth, not as a liability. Somewhere, somehow, there are specific or exact matter for every person to make him worthy for another person.

For example, if my car stalled on a road, and I find two more people there around can help push the car and start its engine thanking for those two persons found there, not the other way of losing to start the car by not finding anyone around the place. That is a good thing about more people or population to make this argument work.

The government of the Philippines should value people and not view them as problems. We need to manage our population by education and creating factories to make the country operate well for increased GDP.

What is happening in Europe by their loss of population, their aging generation is at the problem of losing their economy due to loss of factory workers there. They did not invented a scenario of migrant refugees just to make short cuts for influx of refugees as migrant workers in their territories, but it seems the story will say like that. They make use the opportunity of refugee problems as a means to supply labor needs in the region. That's the business reality existing between the middle east and Europe.

Regard of Respect lost by garbage dumping

the ship Ma. Christina from South Korea

What's wrong with the country when foreign countries are already in chorus dumping their wastes in the Philippines?

Upon our learning of the story of this foreign garbage which is now undergoing investigation in congress, the series of events of its eventual processes and releases were highly unusual and full of corruption in the system. The BOC  is full of bad smell by this information.

The hard question right now is that how did it transpired that the country had been the destination of foreign garbage for many times now, and what regard these countries had given us as their destination of choice for garbage?

Our reputation had gone so low that even garbage are thrown in our faces, maligning the image of Filipinos.

CANADA, SOUTH KOREA, AND JAPAN TRASH?

The several importation of trash loads from South Korea, after Canada and Japan turns to be abysmal lapses of our government to have received them without knowledge, info, or plain corruption?

These things going on the Philippines are indication that foreign countries has already lost respect to the country, the Filipinos, by that importation of garbage which was done surely because of corruption?

This is no longer acceptable and must be stopped. We must do something to avert the reputation lost by these acts even though they're our allies and friends.

MANILA TIMES ARTICLE ON SOUTH KOREAN GARBAGE DUMPED TO CEBU PORT

From south Korea, there are 100 metric tons of garbage were unloaded, and totaling to 25,000 metric tons shipped.

Something is wrong with our system and corruption is so foul of smell.

THE JEEPNEYMODERNIZATION

We see that the new designs of Jeepneys are very good and efficient, but there are certain considerations regarding the manufacturing  of these vehicles that must benefit the economy of the country and not for the few that will get wealthy on it.

The idea of the Jeepney program is needed and timely, but the mechanisms needed into realization must be beneficial for the country economically and productively.

The jeepney program could have been the means to spur economic activity of the country and start our industrialization by initiating car manufacturing in the country of all Filipino resources, content, and technology.

The idea of car manufacturing is already overdue, and to use the excuse of the jeepney program to have onshore car manufacturing in the country is just just.

The isuzu and Mitsubishi of Japan will entirely benefit the income for the program, and still the country will need to outlay foreign reserves to acquire those engines and parts from offshore.

If the government had prepared and put up factories  domestically through partnerships at the start, eventually, technology transfer can materialize in the process and make car manufacturing an established industry in the country then.

The situation alone of Indonesia that have accomplished its own car manufacturing is a good excuse and example for the country to venture into this industry  to the benefit of jeepney modernization.

There is no more excuse for technolgy anymore as they can be acquired through partnerships.

There is no excuse also of funding where we see and initial outlay and subsidy fo the government amounting into 27 billion pesos to start with, is enough fund to initialize car manufacturing.

The nearly 300 billion pesos of amortization cost estimated for three years is also a secured area of investment for private and public firms to engage in car manufacturing forthwith.

The only reason for this opinion in pushing car manufacturing as a means for the jeepney modernization is its beneficial effects for economy of the country that will make us independent from foreign technologies and make us self-reliant that will make us secure our sovereignty.

Without established manufacturing and industrialization, will make the future of the country bleak, dependent on the external flows and conditions of industrialized and wealthy economies that will dictate and influence our finances and political policies forever.

CAR MANUFACTURING AND THE JEEPNEY PROGRAM

Why we see that the proposed program that is already in motion, the Jeepney modernization of the government is a chance for us to get into the ride of industrialization? It is because the world is fast changing its character and condition that we cannot remain as a non-industrialized country, that would impact the local economy if we deny ourselves for industrialization of the economy.

First, the jeepney modernization is an opportunity to start industrialization due to the reason that we are moving towards the ASEAN one, single economy, and the rate that China is conquering the world trade, and affecting the Philippines in its trade imbalances that takes toll on the Peso.

Our poor performance in exports due to low industries and factories operating in the country makes the reason that we cannot uplift the condition of our local currency. It remains stucked and defeated with no chance of recovery.

Inflation has been making waves and hurting domestic finances of our people, due to cost of living keeps going up. The dollar rates going up and losing our peso makes the problem worse, and the government is not heard of doing the remedy and addressing the situation.

Without industrialization, there will be chaotic future of our economy, that might replicate the country to Venezuela.

The Jeepney program of the government can be a very good reason to start our car manufacturing that would create jobs, spur business and trade, and save the much needed foreign reserves for the country.

China's Plans for Replacing the Dollar

It's not long that China will become the world's biggest economy,  that now is the second largest after the United States.

But at the rate it is going, sooner by  some few years, it will take its place as the world's largest overtaking the US.

It will also lead the world to replace the IMF- World Bank that we know, that upon at the moment , China is already shaping its own IMF world Bank version that sooner, nations will take its loans and service for developing countries like the Philippines.

Sooner also, by the rate it is going, Yuan will replace the US dollar as the world's currency.

Now, what is the impact of all of these things happening over China? How can the Philippines benefit from it, or how our country can defend itself on the impact and effects of China becoming the world's new leader replacing the United States.

Fundamentally, it is time to study our own economic condition and prepare the economy to move into into industrialization as the basic means of facing the change of hands in world  economic power in few more years.

Industrialization is only the key to defend the country on the impact of the china's economic power. Unless steps are taken to move into this field of economy, there will be difficulties ahead that will create  troubles over the aggressive trade practices of China and how it treats others who are weak economically.

HUMANITY IS WITHOUT BOUNDARY

Human rights is an international matter, universal.

It is natural for human specie to save each other, and sovereignty is not a cover to save us from criticism.

We know that naturally we are overwhelmed by human catastrophe, death, by natural causes, but humans abusing  fellow humans, is a matter of natural concern for everyone without the excuse of boundaries and sovereignty.

the criticism abroad of extra judicial killing is a matter coming before us and better for us to be prepared.

The Rohingya Muslims, North Korean human rights, syria, etc., are human rights issues that is natural for anyone to be concerned of, that feeling of concern doesn't require boundaries.

Humanity is universal, it was there since birth of humans. Our civilization and modernity dictates that we have already overcome savagery and intellectual capacities of humanity has evolved to overcome racism and differences which was borne of human rights.

We cannot escape criticism because humanity is without borders and sovereignty. To dwell against human rights is a condition of our incapacity to interrelate with the world and live among the virtue of humanity.

WANTED FILIPINO CAR BRAND

It appears that Philippines has the enthusiasm of building cars in the country, but the sad part about it is, it is not a Filipino company maker to call it.   The no. 1 builder in the country is the Toyota Motors corporation, a Toyota Motors Japan subsidiary that assembles car components to cater the demand of the Philippine market and surplus abroad.

The technology, materials are all Japanese, and of course profit and revenues are channeled to Japanese earnings, not for the benefit of the country.

The intent of our  goal is to acquire and start car manufacturing with technology that should belong to Filipinos. Technology transfers must be now, and should benefit the economy and profitability of the country.

For example, the recent Jeepney modernization program of the government should start our dream of car manufacturing and not for the continued patronage of Japanese auto companies.

The sweet story that we can make to realize car manufacturing should start with the Jeepney modernization program.

CHINA GAINING MORE JAPANESE FIRMS

The giant Toshiba of Japan is selling its TV division to Chinese Hisense company, and it may sound like China is gaining more of  technology transfers for its advantage.

To see such gains of China's agressive savvy on technology, there is a feeling that sooner China may become not only the giant economy of the world, but a world leader itself in technology made by these acquisitions happening overtime.

In retrospect, the Philippines is not gaining any major foothold of technology transfers in the meantime, and we are losing the advantage over other nations who'd been attracted to infuse businesses and manufacturing involved in high technology products.

The view of the situation in general is just dreadful on our part who continued to refuse to engage in high end products of manufacturing in the hope that we should become sustainable and self-reliant. Without technology transfers, self-reliance is far fetch to come.

We even refuse to industrialize our economy, that makes the question even more difficult to address the situation of gaining high end manufacturing for the benefit of our sustainability and developing our exports.

The continued acquisitions of China is alarming to the point that someday this giant nation will utterly become the first in the world, where first they've done these things thru piracy , trying in their jest to gain.

What can we do in the Philippines?

Since we have a nerve breaking loss in technology, and our GDP is direly low, we need to act now to avert ourselves of loss in the future of being purely depended offshore which is not a suitable condition. We must create our future of security and strategically that will guarantee our survival as a nation.

HUMAN RIGHTS AS RIGTHS

It might be considered an irresponsible opinion to undermine the significance of human rights as an issue forgotten to be of universal significance of humanity.

Such  comment using the sovereign power of a nation or its leader, is unethical in the spectrum of humanity.

It can be difficult to brag the idea that human rights is a personal issue of a certain person, leader , or of a nation where you can wantonly express desire its direction, control, and condition.

Before nations, there exists humanity, or even the Philippine government was born just in 1946 after the war, or its first Philippine republic in 1896, or even at the the arrival of the Spaniards who landed on the shores of these islands, cannot offset the human rights of Filipinos or the islanders of this archipelago to be overridden by our leaders today under this constitution.

Human rights is synchronized with the birth of humanity long before civilizations began.

If by reason of election under this 1987 constitution that such management and control of human rights is under this power, can be a misplaced reasoning.

The universal virtue of human rights is the reason why other nations brag or demand accountability of human rights violations around the world. This is the understanding why the United Nations, and all leaders are continuously concerned of human rights in natural form, from Syria,  Rohingya Muslims, North Korea, etc.,  that compels us to affirm support for our interrelation of nations universally.

UNITY UNDER RULE OF LAW IN THE CHINA SEA

There is no question that the ASEAN will have its unity amid the China sea tension, but the only remaining question is about the rule of law in the region where China does not respect. When parties involved in the does not acknowledge its rights under the principle of law of the seas, and relieve itself against its rights over it, the situation will not close to a better end. When the unity speaks about the assertion of rule of law and compel China to recognize its obligations instead of tolerance, such unity will have meaning. Unity in trade, bilateral relations, economy among members is not the problem, yet when ASEANs are not united in pursuing the rule of law, such body and unity will reduce to nothingness.   UNITY OF THE ASEAN IN THE CHINA SEA ASKED

NOT SO HOT

This perception of the country is not impressive in terms of comparison made by bloomberg as a term of assessment. It shows the decline of the country's performance in terms of investments and the observation given by foreign capitalists.

By its comparison with Indonesian terms of investments and record, demonstrates unfair record for the country spelling its attractiveness abroad.

"A fast-growing economy with a vibrant young workforce, the Philippines has all the right metrics to be an investment hot spot. But it's not an easy place for foreigners to find opportunities -- and that's not because of President Rodrigo Duterte, whose drug war and anti-U.S. invective caused an exodus of funds last year."- bloomberg

The statement above is awful to know that the country is now suffering this kind of perception, though it is an investment hot spot as it was said, the actualities remains the proof in the exodus of investors given last year. Though Drug war was not given as reason, the falling of the investors perception in the country in general must be fought somewhere where our rules and regulations becomes stiff for compliance that resulted to the exodus. They practically becomes a factor of retardant that produces ill effects to scare investors in this way.

"Over the past five years, there were only 81 cross-border private equity and venture capital transactions, totaling just over $6 billion. Meanwhile, neighboring Indonesia is flourishing, with more than $4 billion of deals so far this year alone." -bloomberg.

In record of five years we have only garnered 6 billion of capital transactions for the country, while 4 billion were taken home by Indonesia in this year alone. This piece of events is depressing to know, and something must be done right, or else, in just another ten years, we will  be a member of a fourth world economy club. Though the report states five years that covers past administration, the current governance should raise more emphasis and hard work on those losses, and create an attractive atmosphere reversing the past.

SELF-RELIANCE THROUGH MANUFACTURING

We need an enthusiasm for manufacturing in the country, due to it will be the breeding ground for development of technology in the country and spur economic activities and trade that would vest it for more global trade, that would result into greater revenue in foreign currency , and effectively will grace the economy and better lives for the people.

First, Manufacturing specially in the fields of machinery and high technological products usable for military applications will give rise to more self-reliant approach towards our goal of securing our sovereignty by the effects of manufacturing.

The effects of high active industries for the country will spread to more local ownership of companies, industries of Filipinos as a stable source of the government to procure military needs from shipbuilding, land armored vehicles, weaponry, radar, drones, bullets and ammunition, rockets, missilery, that if become locally produced, is self-reliance. Most of all, maintenance is high cost if provided from offshore. Moreso, employment and a spurred growth for trade and commerce, and bigger revenue for the government are its good effects thereby saving our foreign reserves.

This opinion is a long settled argument in the discussion of improving the economy of the country through manufacturing as sampled by the first world economies of the world.

We need more manufacturing

Why we need more manufacturing for the country? And why we speak about it today? Though some will say that we have a healthy economy, is not a reality at all that we should rest and leave the job for the next day.

Currently, our president, and every president of this country goes into trouble tavelling abroad and find sources of funds in dollar to beef up the economy of the country, an indication that we are short of funds. We cannot deny that the government needs fundings, investments, foreign capitalists to curb the rising unemployment of the country and the need to improve the economy.

First, we have been dependent of receiving domestic products abroad particularly importations from China. Though in practical consideration, because of its cheap products, we were lured to go there and buy under the risk of losing our foreign reserves.

Second, when we buy from abroad, we neglect the problem of unemployed citizens of this country, and promote the employment of Chinese abroad in that categorical sense. Though there is benefit in terms of profit, the cross effect of it, is the rising poverty of filipinos due to lack of jobs in the land.

PH dollar reserves drop to 9-month low

It has been noted that the foreign reserves of the country has been at its lowest this period. Thus, the situation would mean a  not desirable standard condition for the country that it will not be able to function well in its services and obligations that requires dollar issuance's.

In all, the outlook is not very good, yet there should be actions needed to be taken to avert and return back to a healthy condition for the country, its economy, that would affect people.

According to the report, our global trade is weak, that thereby makes foreign currency earnings of the government pegged at its minimal growth.

Considered at this period as at 9 month low, does mean that the current administration though not at fault, our foreign obligations for loan payments marred by the falling peso makes the reserve depleting.

Emphasis must be given to the our global trade as the main source that foreign reserve will grow. Our industries, manufacturing sector is still weak, being not an industrialized economy, we'll need to scale up to that medium to seek global business with the rest of the world to sustain and improve our economy.
