The question of returning to the PNP hand the drug war program of the government is not a problem, it is legal.
The only question raised by groups, human rights advocates, the United Nations Human Rights are still the same, to investigate the previous killings they believed to be questionable and extrajudicially. While the return is again perceived to be the same, there are opinions and apprehensions that it might resurrect the previous record of the PNP in its conduct.
We cannot judge the body of police officers about their conduct of the war on drugs, they might this time do it accordingly with the law under the light of previous experiences.
What are the effects of a violated human rights to the country on drug war operations that were or to be again conducted in the same manner is the question here.
Previously the EU blocs, UN, and international leaders have issued resentments over the record of spate of killings in the country, and their alarm and concerns have translated into backing out of aids, grants, assistance programs , and further withdrawal of trade preferences of the Philippines in EU. These are the monetized effects of human rights violations perceived by the international communities, which the government might consider in performing its jobs about drug wars.
The effect of drug war over our plans of industrialization and uplifting the economy of the country is dependent on its results and outcome. Because we are interrelating our country with the international communities, and our revenues, economy is dependent on it, human rights conduct in the country becomes a proven factor this time. We'll have to learn our lessons that our prosperity are derived only from being civil and just with the rest of the world, and we cannot live alone and die of hunger due to our pride and sovereignty as the excuse of everything.
We'll have to deal with our positive view of our population, its cost by our own lapses and faults that drugs became a menace in the society today, cannot be the reason that well fall our economy, trade, and relations with the world.
We can deal with the drug war that the police knows better this time.
