In this development, it is of great hope that Taiwan might think the possibility of putting up a FOXCONN manufacturing plant in the Philippines to cement the relationships of the two neighbors as business friends, and depart from the traditional Chinese partnership of Taiwan.
The southbound policy of Taiwan is one indicator that Philippines is due to harness this situation favorable to us being in close proximity of the island.
"Taiwan’s representative to the Philippines, Gary Song-huann Lin, and his counterpart, Angelito Banayo, signed the deal on December 7, in a ceremony also attended by Taiwanese Vice Economics Minister Wang Mei-hua and the Philippine Trade Undersecretary Ceferino Rodolfo. According to Taiwan’s CNA, the agreement “puts in place mechanisms that make investments more transparent and the treatment of investors fairer, including provisions on how investors can seek government assistance when they run into trouble.” -THE DIPLOMAT
In turn, the Philippines should be prepared enough for the resurgence of trust given to the Philippines, that it may seek to safeguard, assist, and help investors in situations where politically they will be jeopardized, but replace the apprehensions with more optimism.
China on the other hand is not a good neighbor by defying such relationship of the two nations with intent to destroy and not help the economy of the country by opposing the bilateral investments.
